Terrific Turkey
This showstopping headband is sure to be the hit of your Thanksgiving festivities!
Materials
2 yellow, 2 red, and 2 orange construction paper copies of the pattern located here.
two 2" x 12" brown construction paper strips
white, red and yellow construction paper scraps
scissors
stapler
marker
glue
Directions
1. Staple the brown strips together at one end. Size it to your head and staple the remaining ends to form a headband.
2. Cut off any excess after stapling.
3. Cut out one of the feathers and glue them to on side of the headband.
4. Glue the turkey facial features to the headband as shown.
5. Use a marker to make additional details on the headband.

Native Americans first introduced the Pilgrims to wild turkeys as a source of food. As a tradition, families eat turkey on Thanksgiving. Invite each student to share one of his family's Thanksgiving traditions. |
